Enjoy bite-sized nuggets of sketch comedy performed by yesteryear's favorite playthings, animated in state-of-the-art stop motion! (Hey, CGI - go straight to hell!) It's like a poultry polka party in your pants!  Prepare for a plasticised popculture implosion! Robot Chicken makes your subversive wishes come true. Robot Chicken's twisted take on pop culture brings action figures to life'

This might just be one of the best DVD boxsets produced by Madman Entertainment yet! Almost 24 hours worth of yummy Robot Chicken goodness is contained in this 10 disc set, with 100 episodes from seasons 1 to 5 and a $#!T load of bonus extras it is truely non-stop hilarity!

Created by Seth Green (BUFFY, AUSTIN POWERS) and Matt Senreich (Wizard and Toyfare magazines), Robot Chicken is a stop-motion animated series based around the sketch comedy style of delivery. Each 11 minute episode contains hilarious sketches featuring some of Hollywood's best known personalities including: Neil Patrick Harris, Megan Fox, Zac Efron, Conan O'Brien, and even our own Rove McManus makes an appearance.

The show focuses on mocking pop culture, referencing toys, movies, television, and popular fads, as well as more obscure references like anime cartoons and older television programs, much in the same vein as comedy sketch shows like Saturday Night Live. One particular motif involves the idea of fantastical characters being placed in a more realistic world or situation (such as Stretch Armstrong requiring a corn syrup transplant after losing his abilities because of aging, Optimus Prime performing a prostate cancer PSA, and Godzilla having problems in the bedroom).

I tried to make a list of some of my favourite moments from the 100 episodes of Robot Chicken contained in this collection but I had to give up...there was just way to many to note! And the speed at which they fly through some of the scenarios is extraordinary, yet effective.

Another massive draw-point that this boxset has is the hours upon hours of bonus features contained within. There's episode commentaries from the show's creators, deleted scenes, behind the scenes footage, Comic Con panel appearances, outtakes plus heaps more (there nearly could have been another whole DVD set dedicated to these bonus features!).

Overall, if you're a fan of 'animated cut-away humour' programs including Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show  then I can guarantee that you'll love what Robot Chicken has to offer. This boxset will get you very familiar with the "IT'S ALIVE" screech in the opening sequence as you watch a road-kill chicken be re-created over and over again...you'll never tire of it!
