Aussie Comedy Kingdom

'Congratulations you are holding another Akmal DVD. To go into the draw to win a Mitsubishi Magna, please now hold it about your head, jump up and down screaming I LOVE AKMAL!'

Finally, after many years of waiting, everyone's favourite Egyptian comedian Akmal Saleh is back with another brand new live DVD -
The Life Of Akmal! Filmed in front of a packed crowd at the Sydney Opera House, see Akmal at his very best discussing various aspects of life, as well as giving the crowd some stick as well!

In this hilarious live show, join Akmal as he deals with all the big issues in a slightly offensive way. This show showcases Akmal at his brilliant best covering topics from growing up in Egypt and migrating to Australia to being kicked out of the Coptic Orthodox Church and finding solace in his newfound religion of Comedy. There are stories of how Akmal entered the comedy world and insights into the characters he has met along the way as well as some really good crowd improvising.

There's a decent serve of extra features included in this DVD which I absolutely love. Those special features are:
- Akmal chatting with Paul McDermott on the Good News Week couch.
- An insightful visual look into Akmal's upbringing, with hilarious stories, on the Channel 7 show Pictures Of You, with host Brian Nankervis.
- Akmal's hilarious false take on Egypt in the Channel 7 show The Unbelievable Truth, with host Craig Reucassel. Akmal's speech is all untrue with a few true facts amongst the lies. The fellow panel members (Andrew Hansen, The Umbilical Brothers and Virginia Gay) have to pick the truth from the lies.
- A chat between Akmal and fellow comedian Joel Ozborn called 'Mentoring Joel'.

So if you like stories about Hungry Hungry Hippos, tattoos, 'Jesus the Ski Instructor' and growing up in the suburb of Punchbowl, then you are sure to love this utterly hilarious live performance from one of Australia's top touring comedians. I also highly recommend grabing yourself a copy of Akmal's memoir's also entitled 'The Life Of Akmal' for an emotional, funny and insightful in-depth look back through Akmal's journey through life.
